| Mabon is the music of accordionist Jamie Smith augmented by an energetic band featuring some of the best Celtic musicians in the folk scene today. They were barely registering on the folk radar in 2005 when Sham booked them for Mellor Brook Community Centre on the strength of their 2004 debut CD, Ridiculous Thinkers which dropped unsolicited on his doorstep. A year later Mabon were taking the folk scene by storm with high profile performances at the Llangollen International Eisteddfod and Cambridge Folk Festival. Earlier this year they toured Mexico in May and will be coming to Samlesbury via Brittany where they have become firm favourites at the Festival Interceltique de Lorient. |
