Black Diamond High D Tuneable Whistle

Rarely do you find a whistle that satisfies even the most discerning professional musician fully, without having to spend a lot of money. Until now!
In this brand new design the ‘Black Diamond’ you have just that, a professional level instrument at a most affordable price.
The mastermind behind the design and construction of this High D is antipodean whistle smith and designer Erle Bartlett. As they say around here ‘the boy’s done well’.
The Black Diamond succeeds through a winning blend of factors: the right choice of materials, the design, not forgetting the tools and jigs made especially for the project. The end result is a whistle that is a joy to play. The feel of the mouthpiece on the lips and build of the body corresponds to the way it sounds; light, clean and highly responsive if you are prepared – like most serious whistles to ‘push’ it a little.
The choice of materials is important and by Erle choosing a Brass body and Delrin mouthpiece he ensures it feels positive whilst playing…lovers of brass bodied whistles will appreciate this High D.
The curved wind way design, pinned fipple plug linked with a snug fitting tuneable mouthpiece onto the thin walled brass body all make this a winning instrument. An instrument that combines the best in modern build techniques but still has a traditional feel.
The whistle provides a clean rounded sound and a most acceptable level of backpressure. The lower register has body; tonality throughout both octaves is secure. We recommend this tuneable instrument to you without reservation, although due to the backpressure, it is probably better suited to players of intermediate level and above.
We had our one of our recent batch of Black Diamonds checked out by the master whistler himself Mick Woodruff from www.fingertrip.net (see links), he says: Black Diamond: A must-play traditional style whistle with a full-bodied sound and professional feel which inspires and rewards confident playing.

Chieftain Mezzo Soprano D
Description
The Chieftain is a very, very good production whistle (i.e. it is not hand made). Do not consider this to be a derogatory remark, it is not, the production technique has been developed to such a degree now that the Chieftain is a very stable, in tune, solid and playable instrument.
It will be difficult to find a whistler that could fault the Chieftain High D. The bore is wider, with a shorter body length - giving it a bigger brighter sound – so being of a wider bore it does take a bit more puff, but what a sound! The holes are slightly bigger too, due to widening the bore size.
This is a quality instrument with a big, big sound and it also looks really impressive.
