Shaw Whistles are traditionally built in rolled nickel plate. They are of conical bore and have a wooden underlip. Due to this build type, Shaws have a soft warm sound and intonation is consistently good. The breathy sound produced cannot be found in many other whistles and to this end they are quite distinctive. Dave Shaw, the maker, is an excellent musician and craftsman and voices all his whistles by hand. Shaws come complete with a presentation cardboard base gift case with transparent lid. The product weight shown is the gross weight of the package.
Mr. Weyer says: The Shaw Alto A is a great stepping stone before the big jump up to a Low Whistle. Perhaps they take a little more air/breath than comparable Alto A's, but the sound produced is rich and flute like.
